2017 Winter Running Shoe Round Up

With spring in many parts in the world including the US, you will find that living close to the mountains you will still find snow and in other colder parts of the world you also need more than average trial shoes. Winter running shoes remain popular throughout the year though as cold parts remain and we look at some of the best running shoes to buy this cold season.

Saucony Razor ICE+
The Saucony Razor ICE+ is a lightly gaitered running shoe with its most unique factor, the outer sole. It offers runners a light design and is a clean looking shoe. It is a great shoe to wear in icy conditions without any need to use additional metal spikes.

Salomon S-Lab XA Alpine
Salomon is known for its outstanding quality and clean design and a very technical and specific shoe. It is both nimble for trial running, but also for gripping and wet grip too. Even though the midsole initially appears to be too stiff it is very runnable and protective too. It is excellent for mountain runners and great for high calibre athletes.

Altra lone Peak 3 Neoshell Mid
This shoe has a hard rubber compound and stiffer midsole than previous models in the lone Peak 3 range. It is an excellent choice if lengthy winter trials are in store for you with hard outer compound stiffer midsole and warm and comfortable upper that would not allow water pickup.

North Face Ultra MT Winter
This running shoe is overall well-rounded with an incredibly comfortable upper, Vibram iceTrek outer sole and mega grip. It has an incredibly thick lace cord and thicker tongue padding.

Scarpa Atom S
The Scarpa is made for Winter Mountains that is for sure and easily the most functional and comfortable too. It comes with an Outdry upper that makes it the only completely waterproof shoe on the market or this list. It has a stiff midsole and Vibram IceTrek outer sole.
